Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: THE HIGHLAND WELCOME

The journey begins on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, at the magnificent Cameron House. Check in from 2:00 PM and settle into a five-star baronial mansion set on the shores of the loch, surrounded by the Trossachs National Park. As the afternoon settles, our community of drivers comes together for the first ritual of the journey: clay target shooting on the estate. The evening unfolds over welcome drinks, a short route briefing and a private dinner at one of Cameron House's celebrated restaurants.

Day 1 — THE HIGHLAND WELCOME

Day 2: THE GLENCOE PASSAGE

We roll out at 9:00 AM and aim the convoy west into the wild heart of the Highlands. We head north up the banks of Loch Lomond, the land growing bigger with every mile through Tyndrum until it opens into Glencoe — the most cinematic stretch of asphalt in Britain. We turn onto the single-track of Glen Etive for the legendary Skyfall photo stop, the supercars framed by raw rock and water. The afternoon tracks the coast past Eilean Donan Castle and across the Skye Bridge, delivering us onto the island as the light drops over the Cuillin.

Day 2 — THE GLENCOE PASSAGE

Day 3: THE WILD ISLE

A day given entirely to the drama of Skye. Departing at 9:00 AM, we run the A855 up to the Quiraing, a ribbon of asphalt folding through one of the most extraordinary landscapes on earth. The route then sweeps west through Uig and Edinbane to Dunvegan Castle, where lunch looks out over the loch. From there we drop down to Carbost and the home of Talisker for a private whisky experience above Loch Harport, before riding the last of the light back for an evening in Portree.

Day 3 — THE WILD ISLE

Day 4: THE WESTERN CROSSING

We leave the island the way it deserves to be left, by sea. From Armadale we board the ferry across the Sound of Sleat to Mallaig, then pick up one of Scotland's most storied driving stretches. Lunch is in Glenfinnan, beside the famous viaduct, where with a bit of luck you'll catch the Jacobite Steam Train crossing it. From there we open up along the sweeping A86 beside Loch Laggan, fast, flowing and utterly absorbing, before tracking through Dalwhinnie to the Old Manse of Blair, where the fire is already lit.

Day 4 — THE WESTERN CROSSING

Day 5: THE SNOW ROADS FINALE

This is the day the road climbs higher than anywhere else in Britain. You roll out at 9:00 AM over the Cairnwell Pass at Glenshee, the highest public road in the country, the Cairngorms opening out on every side. The route drops into Royal Deeside, the country around Balmoral, and on to Braemar and lunch at The Fife Arms, with time first to wander its collection of Highland art and curiosities. From there it's the run back over the passes to the Old Manse. And the final evening is the one you'll remember most: a roaring fire, a glass of whisky, a long celebration dinner, and a room full of people the week has turned into friends.

Day 5 — THE SNOW ROADS FINALE

Day 6: THE FAREWELL

The final morning belongs to you. Over a slow breakfast the whole group comes together one more time, trading stories from the week: the sweep of Glencoe, the Quiraing on Skye, the climb over the Cairnwell Pass. You arrived as drivers and leave as friends, with a week of extraordinary roads and Highland scenery to carry home. Individual departures from 11:00 AM.

Day 6 — THE FAREWELL

A Note from Our Founder

Scotland is where the road becomes a memory.

When we designed The Royal Highlands, we set out to create the most spectacular driving journey in Europe. Scotland has this rare quality. The roads are dramatic, the landscape is raw, and there's a sense of solitude you don't find anywhere else. Add the whisky culture, the estate hospitality and roads you'll still be talking about years later, and you have exactly what ROAR was built to find.
